1971 R75/5
The bike we will be giving to the lucky raffle winner is a 1971 BMW R75/5. The motorcycle has matching serial numbers (Frame and Engine) and has been painstakingly restored to like-new condition, emphasizing being as original as possible, down to the last detail. Plam Werks completely disassembled the motorcycle, and every component was restored to new condition, using new parts throughout. The motorcycle was painted in the original Polaris Silver color with hand-painted blue pinstripes. The seat has been fully reconditioned. The motorcycle is as close to new as you are likely to find, and it will bring its new owner thousands of miles and many years of sheer riding pleasure.
In 1969, motorcycle production was relocated from Munich to Berlin, where BMW motorcycles are still manufactured today. The new Berlin factory produced an entirely new, modern motorcycle, with many new and innovative features and numerous improvements over previous BMW models. 12 Volt electrics, swing-arm rear suspension with adjustable shock absorbers, electric starter were just a few of the new features complementing the traditional BMW elements such as shaft drive and legendary reliability.
